First Impressions: I like Phil to get through to the regional semis, after beating willy. dana beats neaylon (sp?) then gives purecell a run for his money but falls 6&5. Greg romps Hori 8&7, but then loses to Thomas 3&2. Phil plays Thomas in the regional finals of the Hermanson Bracket and although Errath is a strong player, he can't win playing 80 yards behind pureluckpurecell all day long, and falls 4&2. In the Reimer Bracket, Fox handles Kyle B (don't know who that is) fairly easily 5&4. Brian H romps Virgin 7&5 with a first round low 75. Bobby Acri provides the first upset of the first round with a 2&1 victory over Zach Harris. Jimmy Tippet runs over Alex T (also don't know who that is) to meet Acri in round 2. Tippet uses his hair length to his advantage holding on to beat Bobby in a close 3&2 battle. Brian H provides a big upset taking it to Fox 2&1 with another round in the 70s to meet Tippet in the finals. Jimmy Tippet fires a sizzling 73 to win the Reimer Bracket, 6&4. In the Sheets Bracket, Jimmy S runs over the cheater after Barnard tries to drop a ball in the woods on hole 1, and is disqualified from the invite. Joe Russell shows up JB Blake, but in a tight one 2&1. Austin Rendell battles good friend Jonathan Frank, and although Frank fights valiantly he ultimately falls to Rendell 1 down. Ian Wright takes down good friend Doug Smart, 3&2, to take on Rendell. In a tight one, Rendell uses clutch par putts on 15 and 16 to build a one up cushion going into the final 2. Wright pars 17 while Rendell setting up an instant classic for 18. Wright puts it in the right hazard while Rendell duck hooks it into Happ's Creek. Both drop and hit their thirds into the left woods. After blading their 4th OB, they hit their 6th shots on the green and Big E 2 putts while Steen 3 putts, giving Big E the win 1 up with a quadruple on the 18th. Jimmy takes down Joe 3&2 and plays Ian in the regional final. No surprises here: a solid 77 gives Slovitt the win 4&3. To the Belford Bracket, Hasslehoff runs over the Rabbi's son, Lindblad beats Frost 1 up in a thriller, Forloine once again shows his match play strength, taking down Fitz Bowen. Mike P kills Nickel 10&8. Phillips takes down Forloine, then plays friend Berlinghof who beat Lindblad. Berlinghof's superstitious nature causes him to get nervous and lose to phillips 3&2 leaving our final 4 as PureCell, McIlroy, Tiger, and Phillips. Phil plays Rory, and tames the mane, firing a course record 62, winning the first 10 holes, to win the match 10&8. Tiger plays Phillips, and feasts, 6&5 setting up the matchup of the century. Who will win? Look for my championship prediction next week.
I'm a little upset hermanson that u didn't give me the benefit of the doubt. Also, I play berlinghof in the first round just to let u know. And last of all, how long did thus take you.
You should update the bracket jimmy. fitz beat forloine.(nice prediction hermanson) neaylon quits after he is four down to hayes. victory for the slowest back swing on tour. virge beat heck. and right now i believe tippet is four up on thompson at the nash as we speak
So far the Ruiz has provided us with upset after upset. Virgin taking down Heck will go down in history while fitz over forloine defied logic. this is shaping up to be a terrific invitational
Sam Connelly plays lacrosse.
